I totally fell in love with the drill-bit pumpkin carving fad this year. As a matter of fact, I loved it so much for Halloween, that I’ve already decided I’m going to do it again to be used as cute little Thanksgiving table decorations.
SIDE NOTE: I wish I could claim these three gorgeous masterpieces as my own, but these were just my Pinterest goals. The middle proved to be my ultimate inspiration for my Halloween pumpkin.
I feel like at this point, it is important for you to know that I am literally obsessed with this concept! Needless to say, when it came time for Halloween pumpkin carving, my Boyfriend brought home the drill and I was ready to go.
The Technical Stuff
PRO (or not) TIP: Draw the flowers on with a magic marker before hand so you know exactly where to drill when the time comes. I used two different sized drill bits. A smaller one for the outsides, and a bigger one for the centers.
The results ?
Well, I guess that’s all in the eyes of the beholder.
The centers of the flowers may or may not have been a LITTLE unevenly spaced here and there. But who’s to say 🤷♀️
My pumpkin may not have been perfect, but I loved her. Keeping this in mind, I was TOTALLY bummed when this happened two days later (thank you Florida rain), and my poor pumpkin had to be disposed of.
Long story short, I already bought my cute little white pumpkin for Thanksgiving, and I can’t wait to do it all over again in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for the results of Part Two!!
